Manchester City are in a tough spot as far as their season is concerned. Manager Pep Guardiola has lost four consecutive games at the club for the first time as City dropped five points below League leaders Liverpool. However, the Spaniard hasn’t been one to shy away from a challenge. That is exactly what happened this time as reports point to Guardiola extending his stay at the Etihad.
Reports state that Pep Guardiola has agreed to stay one more year at City, at least until June 2026. Even though there were rumors that Pep will part ways with the club at the end of the season, Guardiola has now put an end to all the chatter.
With Liverpool threatening to snatch the Premier League title, Guardiola’s extension is surely bound to instill a sense of confidence in his squad. As things stand, City have 23 points from their first 11 games, with their most recent outing ending in a 2-1 loss to Brighton.

Fans react to Pep Guardiola’s contract extension with City
Manchester City should consider itself lucky to have Pep Guardiola in charge till 2026. A fan commented that Arsenal will ‘never’ win a trophy as long as Guardiola is in charge.
Another added that Liverpool will see its five-point lead vanish in no time as the season goes into the second half. Moreover, City will also be required to beat Ruben Amorim‘s United after he demolished them 4-0 with Sporting in the Champions League.

Amidst all the positive messages, several fans took aim at the manager. For starters, a fan called Guardiola a coward for not leaving his ‘comfort zone’. A confident supporter proclaimed that City will now go on to win six Premier League titles in a row before Guardiola leaves.
With an injury crisis to sort out, City also need to get hold of their targets in the winter transfer window. City have lined up replacements for Rodri, with latest reports claiming that the club has submitted a £100.5 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s Warren Zaire-Emery.
