Portuguese superstar and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo went on a rather unending brag in a recent interview, labeling himself as the ‘best’ and ‘most complete’ footballer of all time. He picked himself in comparisons with other great footballers.

Cristiano Ronaldo has broken a host of records throughout his two-decade long career. Having played for clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United, Ronaldo has won a staggering 33 trophies in his career. He has made over 1200 professional career appearances, and has scored a record 923 goals in the process, to become the highest men’s goal-scorer of all time.

At 40, Ronaldo is still going strong, without contemplating retirement. He has often been compared to eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, something upon which the Portuguese forward addressed recently. In an interview on El Chiringuito, Ronaldo highlighted the records he made, through his goal-scoring, be it from open play, free-kicks or penalties, with his left or right foot.

Pointing to his numbers, Ronaldo confidently asserted that he is the most complete footballer to have existed in history. While stating that he respects fans’ liking Messi, Diego Maradona and Pele over him, the Al-Nassr star claimed that no one is better than him. Moreover, he added that he wishes to be more competitive, as it provides him with the motivation to do better.

Apart from that, Ronaldo also spoke about his relationship with Lionel Messi. The Portuguese star insisted that there is no disdain between the two forwards, and they get along really well. He interestingly added that he worked as an English translator for Messi at award ceremonies.
