The Indiana Pacers totally dominated the New York Knicks in Game 4 of their playoff series, winning 121-89 and tying the series at 2-2. The Pacers had six players score in double figures and were led by Tyrese Haliburton who had 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
The Pacers’ defense was stifling, as they held the best player in the East, Jalen Brunson, to just 18 points on 6/17 shooting. Furthermore, Indiana’s bench, led by T.J. McConnell and Obi Toppin provided a spark and extended the lead with McConnell having a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists, and he also played strong defense against Brunson.
The Indiana Pacers built a 23-point lead during the first quarter of the encounter and never looked back, as they took a 28-point advantage into halftime. They extended their lead to 38 points heading into the fourth quarter, and neither team played their starters for the final 12 minutes.
The win now sets up a crucial Game 5 at the Madison Square Garden, New York on Tuesday. Despite the lopsided score, the Knicks may benefit from the extra rest for their starters, who have been playing heavy minutes due to injuries to key players like OG Anunoby, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson.
