Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho left fans laughing after an attempted knee slide. The 61-year-old failed to pull off the move and fell flat on his face. The celebration came after Fenerbahce came from behind to claim an emphatic 3-2 victory over Trabzonspor.
The visitors claimed an impressive win thanks to goals from Fred, Sofyan Amrabat, and Edin Dzeko. Fenerbahce staged a brilliant comeback to retain their second place in the Turkish league table.
Midfielder Amrabat’s superb 103rd-minute strike into the top corner after a perfect run into the box changed the atmosphere on the sidelines. The entire Fenerbahce bench ran out onto the pitch in celebration, including Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager, while running onto the pitch, tried to perform a knee slide, something that he did previously during his Real Madrid and FC Porto days. However, he failed to recreate it and tumbled to the ground before getting surrounded by his players and staff in celebration.
The match was not free from controversy, as Mourinho once again criticized the referee’s decision-making during a post-match interview. He angrily mocked him as a ‘child’ and ‘the invisible man’.
In an eight-minute-long rant, Mourinho declared that referee Atilla Karaoglan was the ‘Man of the Match’. It was the former Chelsea and Roma manager’s second such interview in the past two weeks after he previously spoke up following a red card during his side’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Another incident that caught both the manager’s and fans’ attention was a refereeing error in the dying minutes of the match. A Fenerbahce corner kick hit a Trabzonspor player’s hand but the visitors were denied a penalty by the match official.
