Brazilian starlet Vinicius Jr. joins Real Madrid’s long injury list after being sidelined with a hamstring injury. The hamstring issue in Vinicius’ left leg might keep him out for an extended spell of at least three weeks, missing out on important matches. 

Vinicius Jr. will not be a part of Real Madrid’s 19-man squad for their upcoming UCL encounter against Liverpool. After a stellar display for Los Blancos in a 3-0 win against Leganes, the 24-year-old was diagnosed with an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg. The injury was confirmed by the club through its official website, following tests that were conducted after the match.

Moreover, it is Vinicius’ second injury this season, after having previously been sidelined due to back issues in October. It will be a major setback for Real Madrid, as the Brazilian starlet has been their best player by far. He has notched up 12 goals and eight assists in 18 matches this season. It also comes at a difficult period for the club, who face UCL league-leaders Liverpool at the Anfield.

Vinicius Jr. is expected to be out of action for at least three weeks. The Brazilian star blamed the hectic football calendar for his recent injury. Similar concerns were voiced by other players, one of them being Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.

Meanwhile, Vinicius’ absence poses a massive selection dilemma for manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has seven players out with injury. The long injury list includes Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, David Alaba, Aurelien Tchouameni, Rodrygo, and Lucas Vazquez.

Real Madrid fans responded to club forward Vinicius Jr.’s recent injury, which is set to keep him sidelined for three long weeks. On social media, they blamed the season schedule for the forward’s injury. They also pointed to the fatigue and exhaustion that players face after continuous matches.

Several fans hoped for a quick recovery for the Brazilian starlet. Others expressed anguish over the club’s increasing injury worries. A few fans exclaimed that Liverpool is lucky that they do not face the 24-year-old this time, pointing to his previous records against the EPL side. Some other fans stated that it would be a good opportunity for Kylian Mbappe to showcase his skills as a left-winger.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti will be without his two first-choice wingers, Brazilian duo Vinicius and Rodrygo, against Liverpool. He might opt to start Mbappe, alongside young forwards Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler, for the upcoming matches.
