American WTA star Danielle Collins was caught in a fix when she was asked to speak a few words in French, but as it is with the eloquent tennis star, she escaped it in some style.

While Collins was planning on how to avoid speaking French and escape out of there, her facial expressions were hilarious for the fans to see.

It all started with the interviewer asking Collins to speak a few words in the local language. As Collins beat Katerina Siniokava in straight sets at the 2024 Internationaux de Strasbourg, she came for the on-court interview, and it was all comical from there.

First, she was asked a couple of questions about her match, which Collins answered with ease. Then, things turned hilarious when the interviewer “put her on the spot” by asking her to speak a few words in French for the fans at the stadium. Collins had a not-so-enthusiastic reaction to this. She obliged to it anyway, though.

But the American star was smart enough to just stand and listen to the words coming out of the interviewer’s mouth. She did not utter a single word, and as soon as the monologue from the interviewer ended, she quickly walked away and also gave a reaction that left fans in splits.

The video clip of Danielle Collins trying to escape this request to speak French gained a lot of traction, with fans reacting to it. Most of the fans found her reaction hilarious, while a few also termed her rude and arrogant.

Coming to Collins’ match against Siniakova, the American star did not break a sweat as she beat her opponent in straight sets of 6-1, 6-2 in the second round of the WTA 500 tournament. She will next face local girl Clara Burel in the quarterfinal. Collins will be hoping to gain much needed momentum before the French Open.
