Over the past year or so, WWE has been encouraging its fans to bring signboards to the arenas. The company has dedicated a mini slot on Raw and SmackDown titled “Signs of the Night,” wherein the commentators give a shoutout to the most creative signboards at a show. It has imbued a new life into WWE programming.
But this week on SmackDown, a fan upped up the game. Falling directly in the vantage of the hard camera, he raised an edited picture of John Cena. As one can see below, the 16-time World Champion appears to be some sort of a dictator with the kind of hairstyle he’s sporting. This fan signboard went viral on social media.
Even though Cena wasn’t on the show, his name was all over the internet. That pretty much sums up how the WWE Universe feels about him. The Peacemaker star kicked off his retirement tour on the Netflix premiere of Raw. In the promo that he cut, the 47-year-old announced that he’ll be entering the Royal Rumble match.
John insinuated the fact that he may never become a 17-time World Champion. But he got heavily booed for making that statement. Cena knew what he was doing and quickly turned it around, saying it’d need a miracle to pull off something like that.
As of now, there’s no word on if The Cenation Leader will make any appearance before the Royal Rumble PLE. Triple H stated during an interview with Sports Illustrated that Cena’s still busy with other projects. However, he has made WWE his prime commitment for the year. Fans can expect more of him on the road to WrestleMania 41.
Fans continue chuckling about John Cena’s portrayal on SmackDown
As mentioned already, that John Cena signboard from SmackDown has the netizens in splits. They had a field day on X joking about it, as evident by the following reactions.

The fan holding it, for some reason, decided to showcase his creativity whilst Jacob Fatu was going off on the mic. A fan commented that he was sure Fatu was about to turn on Solo Sikoa. The rest of the comments were intended to make fun of Cena.
A majority of folks dubbed The Franchise Player as if he were Chinese. At least, it appeared that way to them. Others on X pointed out that the signs were actually funny on SmackDown and hoped to see it continue.
