Against Bournemouth, who posed a major challenge, Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 30th minute. He converted a penalty that was awarded as a result of Lewis Cook‘s foul on Cody Gakpo. Both teams exchanged attacks throughout the second half, before Salah completed his double in the 75th minute with an impressive curler into the far right corner of the net.
