Rafael Nadal called time on his illustrious career last year after Spain lost their Davis Cup quarterfinal tie to the eventual runner-up Netherlands. In his career’s final singles match, the Spaniard suffered a straight-set defeat to Botic van de Zandschulp.

After tennis, Nadal started to play golf and recently competed against his longtime rival, Roger Federer, in Mallorca. Federer was the first member of the Big 3 to retire from tennis. Novak Djokovic is the only player from this trio yet to hang up his racket. He is in Shanghai for the penultimate Masters 1000 of the season.

In his last singles match on clay, Nadal met Djokovic in the second round of the 2024 Paris Olympics, held at Roland Garros, where the King of Clay clinched a record 14 titles. Nadal lost that match, and later, Djokovic beat Carlos Alcaraz to win the gold medal for the first time in his career.

Fans react to Rafael Nadal’s hair loss

Rafael Nadal is no longer a part of the ATP Tour, but he continues to make headlines. This time, the reason was his hair loss.

Felix Auger-Aliassime claims Jannik Sinner does something even better than Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal

Felix Auger-Aliassime held a 2-0 head-to-head record over Jannik Sinner before this season. This year, Sinner took his revenge for both defeats.

They met in the quarterfinal of the Cincinnati Masters, where Sinner handed him a 6-0, 6-2 defeat. Auger-Aliassime was pitted against the four-time Grand Slam champion once again, this time, in the US Open semifinals, and there, the Canadian was successful in taking the second set off the Italian.

But Sinner raised his level and did not lose another set. At present, they are locked at 2-2 in the head-to-head matchups. The 25-year-old recalled both the matches during the Changover Podcast and claimed Sinner does something that is better than Nadal and Djokovic.

In Cincy, the two weeks before, I don’t think I was ready enough, at least in terms of my tactical plan. I didn’t even watch the Cincy match back, to be honest, I didn’t watch that again. I’m not gonna hurt myself watching this. But having that experience, knowing what pace he played at and what intensity, I think I was more prepared [for the US Open match].

Auger-Aliassime is in Shanghai, where he went past Alejandro Tabilo. Next, he will be clashing with Jesper De Jong.

He came out so clean. Like, I don’t know anybody. If you watch matches, he breaks [in the] first game of the match. I don’t remember watching some of the greats, even; they wouldn’t start off like that. As the match goes on, obviously, I feel like Rafa and Novak, it was always like they got so good as the matches went on, but with him, he starts the match like it’s normal, with no tension whatsoever.

Felix Auger-Aliassime added

Sinner is also playing at the Shanghai Masters and is bidding to defend his title. He defeated Djokovic last year. The 24-time Grand Slam champion is projected to meet the 24-year-old in the semifinals.
