Football fans shred Donte Whitner for predicting Chargers’ deep playoff run as Justin Herbert throws four picks in Wildcard game: “That didn’t age well”
Donte Whitner, who played under Jim Harbaugh at 49ers, predicted his former boss will lead the Chargers to an AFC title with Justin Herbert but the quarterback threw four picks in wild card loss to Texans.

Former Pro Bowl defensive back Donte Whitner firmly declared that his former head coach Jim Harbaugh would get the best out of Justin Herbert. Whitner even predicted the Los Angeles Chargers to reach the AFC Championship game by beating out some of the toughest competitions in their way.
In April 2024, ex-San Francisco 49ers defensive back gave an exclusive interview to Kay Adams on Up and Adams and backed Harbaugh to carry over the winning mentality from his time with 2023 CFP champions Michigan.
"Jim Harbaugh is going to have the Chargers in the AFC Championship… in his first year. You can rewind this during championship weekend."

The Chargers qualified for the playoffs with an 11-6 record and finished second in the AFC West. However, they fell at the first hurdle once again.
Rival fans make fun of Donte Whitner and Justin Herbert for boasting that Chargers will go on a deep playoff run
The Chargers faced AFC South winners, the Houston Texans, who lost two of their last three games and were missing both Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell in the offense. Furthermore, quarterback CJ Stroud witnessed a decline in his second year.
Despite all the hurdles, the Texans dominated the Chargers, forcing seven turnovers. Justin Herbert threw four interceptions and almost equaled HOF Brett Favre’s six INTs in a playoff game. The Texans secured a 12-32 win over Harbaugh’s Chargers and Donte Whitner, who probably had forgotten about his interview, faced much criticism from rival fans for his prediction.
