Andrey Rublev injured himself once again. The sixth seed at the Paris Masters was up against Francisco Cerundolo in the second round on Tuesday (October 29) and lost by a scoreline of 7-6(8-6), 7-6(7-5).
Rublev often went into a rage because of his mistakes, and once again lost his cool during his match against the Argentine. The Russian was leading 4-1 in the first set but Cerundulo forced a comeback and ended up winning the first set.
During the first set, when Rublev hit a forehand into the net when he was 0-30 and was leading 5-3, it frustrated him and he screamed at the crowd on Court 1. But during the third game of the second set, he failed to control his emotions after sending another forehand into the net. He started to smash his racket on his knees, which caused it to bleed.
Here’s the video of the incident:
Can somebody get Rublev some mental help? A mental coach? Therapy? Something?

After hurting his knees, he picked up a water bottle and threw it on the ground. Even in an interview this season during the Wimbledon Championships, Rublev stated that as he needed to let his emotions out he started to hit himself.
Fans slam Andrey Rublev for his outburst during Paris Masters
Fans have had enough of Andrey Rublev‘s outbursts. As Rublev continues to lose his cool and ends up hurting himself, fans think ATP should intervene and warn him to stop this behavior or suspend him for several months. A few fans also asked him to retire soon.
Check out a few reactions from the fans:
I thought he reached a turning point after he yelled at an official earlier this season.

I guess I was wrong.
He needs serious help.
Because without it, he’s not winning the big titles (slams).
At some point they gotta say we're going to give him warnings for this kind of behavior. The only reason it's not already the standard is because literally nobody else acts like this

He’s not normal. Bad image of tennis ?

It’s over for him, only option is early retirement soon.

Just slam and crush the freakin’ racket and pay the fine for cryin’
— John E. Vine MD (@johnevine1) October 29, 2024
out loud.
Rublev's 27 years old. Most likely, he's who he is. Best medicine could be to sit him down to watch the worst Kyrgios meltdowns, but since he's had a better career than Kyrgios, it might not register to him.

He should be banned from playing anything official, no matter the category or level, for at least 1 year, like they do in rugby. Roger used to be very angry too and then look what happened. If he can get the time for help, maybe he'd be one of the greats too.

he's been doing that for 5 years and it seems to be working out just fine
— Martín Volpe (@martinvol) October 29, 2024
6 months suspended will work better than anything

Literally been doing this all season with no issues from ATP at all… Crazy

Rublev got knocked out of this ATP 1000 Masters event for the fourth time without winning a single match in his seven appearances. Last year, he made it to the semifinals but was defeated in three sets by eventual champion Novak Djokovic.
Rublev’s defeat to Cerundolo made things somewhat easier for Alex de Minaur and Grigor Dimitrov to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin. With this win, Cerundolo also improved his head-to-head record to 3-1 against the 27-year-old. Cerundolo is set to lock horns with either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Alejandro Tabilo in the fourth round.
Rublev played the Paris Masters following his quarterfinal exit from the Swiss Indoors, where Ben Shelton knocked him out in three sets. He is 42-22 this season after his defeat and has won two titles, the Madrid Open and the Hong Kong Open.
