“Nobody needs this bullsh*t”- Wrestling fans lambast WWE’s reported plans for Goldberg at Survivor Series, snubbing CM Punk in a major way
Even though the fans were expecting Goldberg to wrestle again in WWE, they're distraught over the fact that it could be at CM Punk's expense.

An update has emerged on what could lead to a Goldberg match at next month’s Survivor Series: WarGames. Per WrestleVotes, there could possibly be an angle at the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE that’d eventually set up the WWE Hall of Famer’s highly-anticipated showdown with Gunther at Survivor Series. The report added that WWE views this as a full-circle moment for Goldberg, as he made his in-ring return at the same event in 2016.
If that’s what WWE has lined up, it’d surely tick off a majority of fans. It’s so because it was previously reported that CM Punk was considered for a world title bout against The Ring General at Survivor Series. He had already teased it post his resounding win against Drew McIntyre at Bash in Berlin.
However, Drew refused to let go of Punk, and the two extended their beef for a month, where it finally culminated inside Hell in a Cell. After that grueling HIAC outing, The Best in the World turned up on Raw to reveal that he’s uncertain about his WWE future. But there isn’t much to worry about, as he’s planned to work Survivor Series. But here’s the catch.
If Goldberg is to wrestle Gunther, who was pegged to fight Punk instead, what would the latter do then? That leaves the door wide open. A previous report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter iterated that WWE wasn’t planning Goldberg vs. Gunther for either Survivor Series or WrestleMania 41.
However, the latest one from WrestleVotes could wipe it off. Bill Goldberg had a heated confrontation with the Imperium leader at last Sunday’s Bad Blood event. The World Heavyweight Champion brutally dissed the 57-year-old in front of his family.
Fans refute Goldberg’s rumored in-ring return, clamor for CM Punk’s spot to go as planned
With Goldberg taking on Gunther at Survivor Series now a burgeoning possibility, the fans have explicitly discarded the idea. Netizens didn’t let it pass by without slamming the semi-retired wrestler. One even wondered if Goldberg could still move fluently in the ring.
Several concerns were raised regarding CM Punk getting robbed once again of his placements on WWE PLEs. For instance, at Bad Blood, Punk’s Hell in a Cell match was a frontrunner to headline the show. However, all it took for his well-deserved spot to be snatched away was The Rock’s return.
If the former AEW star is left off Survivor Series to accommodate Goldberg’s in-ring comeback, the wrestling fraternity might riot. By the looks of it, there’s no interest in seeing Bill wrestle again, based off his previous botch-laden outings.
