The coach of the Netherlands football team, Ronald Koeman recently hogged the limelight when he banished Dutch footballer Steven Bergwijn after the latter’s move to Saudi Arabia. In a war of words, when asked whether Bergwijn discuss his move to the middle-east with his national team coach, the latter made it clear that there were no deliberations. However, with the move of the former Manchester United player, Memphis Depay to Brazilian side, Corinthians, the debate has found a new direction.
Just to shed some clarity on the respective clubs, Bergwijn joined Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ittihad from Ajax for £17.7m. Following this development, Memphis Depay announced his signing for Corinthians after a reticent season for the Spanish stalwarts, Atletico Madrid. Bergwijn also opened up on this entire controversy, stating that he would not like to play for Ronaldo Koeman anymore.

Memphis Depay, who has formerly been a part of illustrious clubs like Manchester United, Lyon, Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven, have played 98 matches for Netherlands, scoring 46 goals in the process.
Steven Bergwijn, on the contrary, have played for Everton and Southampton, and featured in the Orange threads for 35 matches, while scoring eight goals. When Ronald Koeman was asked about his future, the Netherlands gaffer made it clear that since he moved to Saudi Arabia at a young age, that move have sealed his future for his national team.
