Fans were left in splits as they responded to a video of English forward Ivan Toney, being welcomed back to join the Brentford squad after the 2024 Euros. There has been much speculation about the 28-year-old forward’s future at the London club.
Ivan Toney has been one of the Premier League’s top forwards, scoring 39 goals over three seasons in the English top flight. Following an eight-month suspension for betting last year, the Brentford forward was linked with a move away from the club. London giants Arsenal and Tottenham were interested in signing him, with the player also openly expressing his desire to leave for a high-profile club.
However, the transfer has yet to materialize, with links to the Three Lions forward gradually fading away. His hefty £100 million price tag has also posed a significant challenge to a move away from Brentford. Amid speculation, the 28-year-old forward was recently welcomed back to the Bees’ dressing room. Some fans, however, suggested that he appeared dejected as he was greeted by familiar faces, including manager Thomas Frank, during the club’s pre-season.
Looks fuming to still be there?

Additionally, Toney’s transfer has been affected by an injury to Brentford’s new signing, 23-year-old forward Igor Thiago, who is expected to be out for four to six months. The Brazilian forward was signed this summer for £30 million from Club Brugge.
Fans react to video of Ivan Toney being welcomed back to the Brentford dressing room after failed transfer attempts
When the video of Three Lions star Ivan Toney, who returned to the Brentford dressing room and was greeted by fellow players and the manager after several failed transfer attempts, went viral on social media, it received numerous responses from fans.
Some fans claimed that Toney seemed uninterested in staying at the London club and was eager to depart. Another fan suggested that the forward was in tears and didn’t want to return. Several Bees fans angrily remarked that no other team wants to buy the 28-year-old forward this summer after he publicly mocked the club in interviews.
Tears man, this is the same guy that slams the club publicly in interviews ?

Despite his return to the Brentford setup, Toney’s future remains uncertain, with Arsenal and Tottenham still interested. Additionally, the Bees might sell him rather than risk losing him for free in 2025.
