Barcelona fans are on an all-time high, following the club’s impressive 5-2 win over Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League. It marked the Catalan club’s 14th win of the new season, also adding to their seven-match winning streak.
Despite suffering a setback in their opening UCL match against Monaco, Barcelona have now claimed three back-to-back wins. The club has flourished under new manager Hansi Flick, who has turned them into a goal-scoring machine. Barca have scored a staggering 55 goals in just 16 matches this season, 15 of them coming in the UCL. Their recent win over Crvena Zvezda lifted them to sixth place in the 36-team UCL table with nine points, much ahead of their La Liga rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Against the Serbian side, Barcelona took an early lead, thanks to a brilliant header by Inigo Martinez from Raphinha’s 13th minute free-kick. The visitors found the back of the net twice in the first half, with Robert Lewandowski firing home his 19th goal of the season. The Polish striker doubled his tally, scoring in the 53rd minute. Raphinha fired home another goal from the edge of the penalty box just two minutes later. Jules Kounde registered a hat-trick of assists, with Fermin Lopez scoring Barca’s 5th goal of the night.
