Wolverhampton forward Matheus Cunha continued with his great form, as he scored a brace and provided an assist in a surprising 4-1 win over Fulham. The Brazilian led Wolves’ comeback, as he helped his side move out of the relegation spots on the table. 

Matheus Cunha’s first goal came in the 31st minute of the match. The home side had taken an early 20th minute lead, thanks to a goal by Alex Iwobi. The Brazilian then set up midfielder Joao Gomes after the break, helping Wolves take the lead in the 53rd minute.

Cunha was of no match to the Fulham defense. He then scored his second goal of the match from a stunning long-range shot, helped by an assist from Joao Gomes. Goncalo Guedes, who came in for Cunha in the 92nd minute, added the fourth for Wolves.

The 25-year-old forward’s brace helped him make it to the sixth position on the Premier League top-scorers’ table. Cunha now has seven goals and three assists in 13 matches this season and keeps mesmerizing fans with his brilliant goal-scoring form.

He has also been involved in 26 goals in his past 29 league starts, with a total of 17 goals and nine assists. Meanwhile, the win provided Wolves and manager Gary O’Neil with a sigh of relief, after a rather dismal start to the season, as well as being called ‘sh*t’.

Wolverhampton have now made it two wins from both their last matches. They had previously defeated Southampton 2-0 prior to the international break, with Matheus Cunha having scored the winner. Wolves are now in 17th position on the EPL table, with just nine points from 12 matches.

One fan hilariously claimed that Manchester City bought the wrong ‘Matheus’ from Wolves, pointing to midfielder Matheus Nunes who signed for the club last season.

Matheus Cunha now has seven goal contributions in his last four matches for Wolverhampton this season. He had previously scored a goal against Brighton, assisted against Crystal Palace, and recorded a goal and an assist against Southampton.
