While Ivanovic's intentions were spot on, the timing was a bit off for the social media's liking.

Ana Ivanovic, the Serbian pro, recently became a meme for the fans after reacting to a WTA post. With the Mutua Madrid Open in the tail end of things, many of the matches have come and gone, but the Serbian ace did not read which match it was and praised the people involved.
Two days ago, Iga Swiatek had gotten a huge victory against Beatriz Haddad Maia. It was the quarter-final setup for the women.
Fighting back down a set, the Pole had outplayed the Brazilian to finish a three-setter on a high. Including a bagel set, it was all Swiatek after the first set, and just like that, she made it to another tournament’s semi-finals.
Amazing matchups. I hope to see some exciting tennis.Ana Ivanovic commented on the X post showing quarterfinals matchups
While it was praiseworthy that Ivanovic was rooting for her colleagues’ matches, it cannot be denied that it came quite late, especially when most of those fixtures already were done and dusted. Understandably, the netizens quickly noticed the mistake from the Serbian and did not fail to troll her for that.
“Ana, blink twice if you’re okay,” commented a fan to her tweet. It did not seem like Ivanovic noticed the blunder, so the trolling kept on flowing in. An embarrassing moment for the Serbian, who is surely going to figure it out soon.
Fans react to the ‘late comment’ by Ana Ivanovic to Madrid Open’s quarterfinalists
Ivanovic, a former World No.1, boasts over 15 singles titles in her career, including a Wimbledon victory in 2008. That year, she also reached the finals of the Australian Open, establishing herself as one of the top players to watch.
Currently, the Serbian is enjoying her retirement life with her three kids and is occasionally seen commenting on X. Recently she tried to make a positive comment for quarterfinalists of the ongoing Madrid Open, but ended up being a couple of days late.
The tennis fans bombarded the tweet thread with trolls. Here are a few of them:
Ivanovic was recently seen in a couple of pictures with her husband, Bastian Schweinsteiger, a soccer star himself. They had taken a few hilarious and goofy pictures, which Schweinsteiger had posted on his X account.
