In Short
  • Draymond Green scored zero points in a 121-110 loss to the Boston Celtics, going 0/7 from the field.
  • The Golden State Warriors' record dropped to 29-27, placing them eighth in the Western Conference.
  • Fans criticized Green's performance, suggesting he struggles without Stephen Curry on the court.

It was not the start that Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors would have wanted after the All-Star weekend. With no Stephen Curry in the lineup, the Warriors were severely shorthanded on the offensive end, and it showed on Thursday night as the Warriors suffered a 121-110 defeat to the Boston Celtics at the Chase Center.

Losses on either side of the All-Star weekend sees the Warriors’ record drop to 29-27 as they find themselves at eighth place in the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Celtics stay at second place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 36-19 record.

Following Jimmy Butler‘s ACL tear, the Warriors have lost eight of their last 12 games. After displaying some impressive form since the turn of the year, it looked like the Dubs were making a run for the top six and securing a direct playoff qualification; however, things seem to be falling apart at the moment.

There came a time before the trade deadline when Draymond Green‘s future with the Warriors was in serious doubt. However, the former Defensive Player of the Year ended up staying beyond the deadline.

On Thursday night, Green had one of the worst performances of his career. In nearly 19 minutes of action, he did not score a single point and recorded just two rebounds and three assists. He went 0/7 from the field.

Green has never been much of an offensive weapon for the Warriors. He is averaging just 8.4 points per game this season. With Curry’s return still uncertain, it was expected that Green would be able to share some of the scoring burden with his teammates. But a zero-point performance is quite a disappointment.

The internet reacts to Draymond Green’s horrid showing against Boston Celtics

The Warriors are approaching a difficult decision on whether to continue starting the four-time champion. He was a game-worst plus-minus -28.

Following the horrid performance, fans did not waste any time reacting to it across social media.

Fans trolled Green for his showing on Thursday, and many believe that Green struggles whenever Curry is not playing alongside him. The 35-year-old will need to put in better performances as Curry is expected to miss at least the next five games.

Kristaps Porzingis makes his Golden State Warriors debut

Kristaps Porzingis has had his fair share of struggles with injuries since being drafted into the NBA. The Warriors made the move for the Latvian international after moving on from Giannis Antetokounmpo at the trade deadline.

He was out due to injury for six weeks and made his much-awaited debut for the Warriors against his former club on Thursday. The center came off the bench and scored 12 points in just 17 minutes.

In his post-match press conference, Porzingis said he wants to build his minutes limit, and he felt good on the court.

I would say as quickly as possible (build his minutes). Even tonight, I would’ve liked to go a little bit longer. I want to still push myself. I know I have to take it step by step. Just take it one game at a time and add a couple of minutes next game, hopefully.

While Porzingis did have a strong offensive night, his defense was exposed far too often. Dubs Nation will hope that their new signing will get up to speed soon as they try to make it to the postseason.
