Cole Palmer made the move from Manchester City to Chelsea in September 2023. Ever since his move to Stamford Bridge, the 22-year-old has assumed the role of his side’s most ‘important’ player.

Head coach Enzo Maresca has time and again asserted his importance to the squad as well. Recently, the forward took a slight dig at his former side as he spoke of the treble-winning medals earned during his time at the Etihad.

I give them to my mum, I wanted to restock. Clear them out so I can stock up again.

The forward also made headlines for his first ‘public’ appearance with his partner Connie Grace. As reported by The Sun, Grace is a nail artist and manicurist. Palmer also linked up with Manchester United stat Kobbie Mainoo, British rapper Central Cee and Olympic icon Usain Bolt on the evening.

Fans react to Cole Palmer’s bold Manchester City medal claim

Following Cole Palmer‘s comments on what he did with his Manchester City medals, fans have reacted to the same in different ways. A supporter took a dig at Arsenal, stating that Palmer’s mum has more medals than the North London club.

Another added that Palmer made a ‘stupid’ decision to restock his trophies by joining Chelsea. Additionally, a City support mocked Palmer for his overconfidence, arguing that he’ll only be able to win Conference League titles in the future.

Meanwhile, Chelsea fans backed the player as they praised his confidence to leave his past at home. While his ‘winning mentality’ deserves praise, only time will tell if Enzo Maresca can inspire Chelsea to a title this season.

Besides his hot take on City, Palmer also answered several other light-hearted questions in an interview for GQ. He picked between scoring an own-goal and being subbed off in the first half. Palmer also joked about the possibility of being a pundit in the future. As things stand, Palmer and Chelsea are third in the Premier League with 19 points from 11 games.
