Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. has embroiled himself in another controversy. Los Blancos conceded an early goal in the 27th minute against Valencia. His heated reaction after being sent off during a La Liga encounter against Valencia captured much attention. The 24-year-old was forced down the tunnel after being shown the red card in the 78th minute.

The home side held on to their lead for most of the match. Jude Bellingham’s missed penalty and Kylian Mbappe’s disallowed goal added to the frustration. 78 minutes into the match, Vinicius Jr. was provoked by Valencia keeper Stole Dimitrievski while appealing for a penalty after a collision. Dimitrievski shoved Vinicius on his back, and the forward angrily responded by striking him in the back of his head.

The 24-year-old star seemed to violently go after the referee in order to confront him. He was restrained and held back by teammate Antonio Rudiger and a Real Madrid staff member, before being ushered down the tunnel.

This marks the 24-year-old’s second red card at the Mestalla stadium. He had previously been shown the way out for his angry reaction towards fans hurling racist comments. Nonetheless, despite the setback, Real Madrid went on to claim a late 2-1 comeback win against Valencia.

Some fans angrily responded by claiming that the Brazilian forward is a ‘disgrace.’ A few others claimed that Vini’s behaviour is the reason why he did not win the Ballon d’Or. One fan hilariously added that Vini had turned into Mike Tyson. However, Real Madrid fans defended the forward’s actions by stating that Stole Dimitrievski had provoked the forward by pulling his initially, which was ignored by the referee.

Meanwhile, the Ballon d’Or runner up faces the threat of a possible four-match ban for his unsung reaction. Vinicius might face a lengthy ban, missing out on Real Madrid’s upcoming Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey matches.
