The Minnesota Timberwolves led by Anthony Edwards put on a show as they defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 112-107, at the Target Center on Friday night. The Thunder seem to have lost some of their aura as they do not look as unbeatable as they did a week ago. The Timberwolves handed the Thunder just their third loss of the season, which is their second loss in their last three games after losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Cup West semifinal.

Anthony Edwards recorded a double-double with a stat line of 26 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. It was not just an impressive offense performance as he put on a strong defensive shift as well recording three steals and two blocks. Reigning league-MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is having another stellar season in terms of scoring and remains in the hunt for another MVP award scored a game-high 35 points to go along with five rebounds and seven assists.

Ant-Man took all the spotlight as he was the star of the show in front of a packed crowd in Minneapolis on Friday night. It was Edwards who scored the dagger-three when the scores were level at 105. The guard is averaging 28.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists this season and has shown significant improvements in his offense skillset, something that he has worked on during the offseason with the help of Michael Jordan.

The Thunder have started to show a few cracks in their armor after a record-breaking start to the 2025-26 campaign. The win propelled the Wolves to 18-10 after 28 games and are currently placed at sixth in the Western Conference standings, while the Thunder continue to stay at the top with a 25-3 record.

After the game, an Instagram account shared a post trolling SGA. But what caught everyone’s attention is that the account is alleged to be a burner account of Edwards.

The account name “believethatjack” posted a screenshot of a missed call from Gilgeous-Alexander and captioned it, “jma hit you back when the highlights finish uploading.

While there is no confirmation that it belongs to Edwards, it is still a hilarious post and sounds like something the 24-year-old would say.

Fans lose their minds after seeing the viral troll post

While there is no evidence or proof that the account belongs to Anthony Edwards as the star has never confirmed about, it did not stop the fans from losing their minds and expressing their opinions on social media. Here are some of the reactions:

Impact of Stephen Curry on Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards was the youngest member of the United States squad filled with veteran talents such as Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant in the 2024 Paris Olympics. It was Curry who put on a show against Serbia in the semifinal, dropping 36 points, and it was the 37-year-old who stepped up in the gold medal match once again as he went on to score 24 points against France.

The Wolves guard sat down with Shams Charania and reflected on his time in the Olympics and the impact Curry left on him.

No matter what, he always stuck with the work. I think that’s what opened my mind to never go against the work. Every day after practice, he was always doing the same routine. Get up a bunch of shots, get up a bunch of shots, go home, act like nothing happened. And then he always said, ‘Don’t worry about it. It’s gonna fall.’ So, I think that was super special.

Edwards has shown a lot of improvement in his three-point shooting throughout his career and is shooting at a career-high 41.9% so far this season.
