Manchester United find themselves increasingly in trouble, after four key players have been sidelined due to injuries during the club’s pre-season tour to the USA. The list of injured players includes new defensive signing Leny Yoro, to the utter disappointment of the fans.
Erik ten Hag is grappling with a new challenge as Leny Yoro along with Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Rasmus Hojlund, are sidelined. Marquee signing Yoro will be out for three months, while Hojlund will miss six weeks following injuries sustained in recent pre-season matches against Arsenal and Real Betis. This situation comes just before the start of the new season and their FA Community Shield match against Man City.
The 18-year-old Frenchman, who was signed from Lille, has suffered a broken metatarsal, ruling him out until late October. Hojlund is dealing with a hamstring injury, and Rashford’s and Antony’s injuries are still under assessment. Ten Hag is facing a situation similar to last season, when injuries to key players like Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, and Mason Mount led to frequent squad changes and ultimately resulted in an 8th-place finish in the EPL.

Injuries have punctured Ten Hag’s hopes of beginning the 2024-25 season on a strong note. Additionally, the club may need to return to the transfer market to strengthen their squad owing to this latest injury crisis.
Fans express anguish as Manchester United hit by new injury crisis before 2024-25 season
Manchester United fans took to social media to express their disappointment over the club’s recent injury issues ahead of the new season. Erik ten Hag will be missing £116 million worth of talent during the early stages of the 2024-25 season.
Some fans have called the club “cursed,” citing a similar injury crisis from the previous season. One fan angrily predicted that the team might be decimated next season due to these injuries. Another drew parallels between Manchester United’s injury situation and that of Chelsea, while one fan humorously suggested that even the manager might end up injured soon.
