Some said it was foolish to do so, while some believed it’s important to make unforgettable memories- these are just what some fans wrote when a video of a father telling his story of buying tickets from a black market for a staggering amount started circulating on social media.
All thanks to MS Dhoni, the father delayed the school fees of his daughters so that he could buy tickets to see the legendary cricketer just once. The father took his three daughters to the MA Chidambaram Stadium to enjoy the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 8.
As the father failed to buy tickets, he paid Rs 64,000 to get them from the black market. But for the joy of watching CSK and especially Dhoni play in front of them, the father had to delay paying the school fees of his daughters.
I didn't get the tickets, so I bought them in black. It was a total of Rs 64,000. I am yet to pay the school fees. But we wanted to see MS Dhoni just once. My three daughters are very happy. The father told Sportswalk Chennai
One often hears such bizarre stories about the devoted fans of cricketers. While a fan reacted to the video, calling it “stupidity,” one of the daughters expressed how happy they were to watch Dhoni play in front of them.
My father has worked very hard to get these tickets. We were very happy when Dhoni came to play. One of the daughters said

MS Dhoni scored just one run in that match
Fans want more from MS Dhoni. The 42-year-old wicketkeeper-batter always comes down the batting order and doesn’t get enough balls to play. Though rival teams’ fans continue to slam him for wasting the balls, the veteran batter played an impressive knock just once in this Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
It came on Sunday (March 31) against Delhi Capitals. DC decided to bat first after winning the toss and posted 191/5. As CSK started losing wickets at regular intervals, Dhoni came to bat and played a whirlwind knock, smashing an unbeaten 37 from 16 balls with four boundaries and three maximums at a high strike rate of 231.25.
Fans witnessed a glimpse of vintage Dhoni, for he departed for just one run on the next two occasions. It came against KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). As the Indian cricket fraternity expects this season to be Dhoni’s last, they want to witness Thala play a few more knocks like the one he played against DC.
