The Miami Grand Prix is a relatively newer circuit on the F1 calendar, yet it has quickly risen and become one of the most popular events, which has exponentially boosted the sport.
This year, the event garnered 3.1 million views on ABC News’ Sunday broadcast, a stark rise over the 2.6 million viewers who watched it last season. This year, the event eclipsed NASCAR’s competing event.
Since its inception, the Miami Grand Prix has been an event that has attracted the brightest of stars. This year was no different, as the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Lindsey Vonn, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Ed Sheeran, and Donald Trump were some of the big names that showed up. The Miami GP is slowly but surely establishing itself as ‘The Event’ to attend for celebrities.
Popular YouTuber and gamer FaZe Banks, who was in attendance for the event, told TMZ Sports that the weekend’s festivities were “insane” and went as far as to compare them to the Super Bowl.
F1 was f***ing dope! S***s lit, people like it clearly. I was just having a conversation with my people about it, it was crazy how many people were there. It was insane. It felt bigger than the Super Bowl as far as people who showed up.FaZe Banks said

The Miami GP is still exponentially behind the Super Bowl in terms of broadcast viewership
Banks’ claims that the Miami Grand Prix was bigger than the Super Bowl stem from the fact that the who’s who of Hollywood and prominent sporting leagues were in attendance for the event. The only other event where this is noticeable is the Super Bowl.
It is an unparalleled experience as the entire city of Miami is bustling throughout the weekend, the local businesses put up special offers, and there are numerous parties organized throughout to commemorate the event.
This year, the hottest party to be at was the American Express Carbone Beach party, where celebrities flocked after attending the Miami GP.
The race cannot be compared to the Super Bowl yet. The reason is because this year, the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers garnered a viewership of 62.5 million globally and 123.4 million viewers in the U.S. alone.
The Super Bowl is miles ahead of the Miami Grand Prix in terms of viewership, but it is an event that is steadily rising in terms of popularity.
As per Reuters, at its peak, 3.6 million viewers were watching the event live. The weekend was capped off with a win by McLaren’s Lando Norris, who secured his first victory in Formula 1.
