FaZe have confirmed the signing of Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye to their roster.

The 22-year-old Danish rifler joins the international squad after spending the last month going through his options as a free agent, decided to part ways with North at the beginning of the end of the season following a two years long spell in the F.C. Copenhagen-owned organization.

He replaces Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras, whose stint with FaZe lasted from May to July. The rifler’s departure was confirmed on Monday, when he was announced as mousesports sixth player.

With joining FaZe, Kjaerbye will to return to the highest level of play on a consistent basis for the first time since early 2018, when he decided to leave Astralis in an shock move to North after the Atlanta Major win.

Since the Major at Atlanta, the MVP has had a roller coaster rise at North even though being the better performers within the team of multiple rosters averaging 1.08 rating and putting up some standout showings at tournaments such as ECS Season 7 Finals and the StarLadder Major.

Kjaerbye’s debut with FaZe will take place at the European part of ESL One Cologne. The international mixture will take on Heroic in the opening round of Group B, which also features three other top-ten teams in Vitality, G2, and fnatic.
