FC Barcelona is gearing up to play its biggest game of the season yet in the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

Champions League football is just around the corner and Barcelona has the monumental task of hosting Vincent Kompany‘s Bayern Munich. Both clubs have been in top form this season, although Barcelona may have the upper hand in terms of League standings.
Robert Lewandowski is in amazing form for the Blaugrana as fans prepare for what looks to be the biggest game of the season yet. Barcelona host Bayern at Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium on Wednesday (October 23).
Manager Hansi Flick and Barca go into the contest on the back of an emphatic 5-1 win over Sevilla while Bayern Munich tries to maneuver its way out of a tough spot. Despite winning their last Bundesliga game 4-0 against VfB Stuttgart, the club only have one win in their last four games.
Barca will also benefit from the return of midfield gem Gavi and the fact that 17-year-old Lamine Yamal is in top form. It is currently sitting first in La Liga, with 27 points from a possible 30.

Bayern too is on top of the table, although narrowly, and is level on points with RB Leipzig. Fans are excited for the clash as both sides look for their second win in the UCL.
Barcelona set to play crucial La Liga game outside of Spain
Barcelona is set to play one of its most crucial games in La Liga this season outside of Spain, with the club seeking approval from FIFA. As per reports, La Liga officials are looking to stage Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid in Miami, United States.
If the plan becomes a reality, this will be the first time a La Liga game will be played outside of Spain. The game is scheduled to be played on December 22, before the winter break. Both Barcelona and Atletico are set to play in a four-team Spanish Super Cup tournament in early January in Saudi Arabia.
FIFA has been engaged in a long dialogue with match promoters about the potential repercussions of domestic Leagues games being staged overseas. La Liga President Javier Tebas has also expressed his desire to play League games in other countries.

Earlier, Barca was involved in plans to play a La Liga game against Girona in 2019 in Miami. The plan was later dropped after it faced opposition from Spain’s football association and players’ union. Meanwhile, the Premier League has stated in the past that it has no plans to play games overseas.
