FC Barcelona vs Galatasaray : Barcelona faced Galatasaray in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Europa League at the Camp Nou.

Barca had the lion’s share of the possession in the game as they created a number of chances. Galatasaray played on the counter-attack and spent most of the game defending in their own half. A good contest end in a goalless draw. All to play for in the second leg of the fixture!

Jordi Alba (7.9/10): Attacking great. Provided good long balls into the box. Tracked back well to fulfill defensive duties.

Eric Garcia (7.4/10): Made some good blocks and interceptions. Carried the ball forward from the backline whenever possible.

Ronald Araujo (6.9/10): Was winning every duel on the pitch. Had the most number of touches in the first half by any player.

Sergino Dest (6.9/10):  Drifting inside centrally at times. Passing accuracy was good. Dribbling was not upto the mark for the youngster.

Nico Gonzalez (6.4/10): Average game for him. Committed some fouls. Had a lot of touches in the middle of the park but looked a bit shaky.

Ferran Torres (6.1/10):  Was hardly involved in the play.  Subbed off after the first 45 minutes.

Frenkie de Jong (7.4/10): Very good on the ball. Hardly lost possession. Created some good chances. Covered a lot of ground.

Adama Traore (7.5/10): Tremendous pace with excellent dribbling in the first half. Constantly taking on players. Lacked the final ball. Unbeatable at ground duels.

Memphis Depay (7.3/10): The Dutchman was good on the ball. Had 2 shot on targets and carded in the first 45 minutes. Created chances as well before being subbed off in the second half.

Pedri (7.5/10): Linking up the midfield with the attack brilliantly. Created a number of good chances with his magical vision.

Substitutions:

Gerrard Pique (6.6/10): The veteran did not get to show much as his team was constantly on the attack.

Sergio Busquets(6.9/10):  Made some decisive passes. Good long balls.

Ousmane Dembele(7.0/10): Good intent from the winger since coming on. Constantly looking for the gaps in the defence. Had some attempts on goal as well.

Aubameyang(6.6/10): Did well at some moments to link up and create for his teammates.

Galatasaray

Inaki Pena (8.2/10):  Some great saves from Galatasaray keeper against his parent club in the game. A very good game for the goalkeeper.

Sacha Boey (7.4/10):  Gave away possession too many times. Was having a tough night dealing with Barca’s wing threat in the first half. Improved a lot in the second half in his defensive duties.

Victor Nelsson (7.4/10):  The defender made many timely clearances for his team. Did not get much of the ball but did his defensive duties tremendously well.

Marcao (7.9/10): Was having an incredible night with a number of crucial tackles and interceptions. A solid display from the center-back.

Patrick van Aaanholt (6.8/10): The left-back was dribbled past by Adama a number of times. Was good with his ball delivery.

Berkan Kutlu (7.0/10): The holding midfielder did his defensive duties well. A strong physical show from him. Got a yellow card in the first half itself.

Taylan Antalyali (7.2/10): Was good at ball distribution. Passing accuracy was fine. Made a lot of interceptions.

Karem Akturkoglu (5.8/10): Was very average. Made a very good run in the 38th minute of the game.

Sofiane Feghouli (6.8/10): The midfielder was trying his best to make things happen. Spent most of the time in his own half chasing the ball.

Ryan Babel (6.5/10): Good at aerial duels. Lost possession many times. Made some good clearances to release the pressure from his team.

Mostafa Mohammed (6.1/10): No shots on target for the forward in the major part of the game. Dropped down at times to help his midfield in winning the ball.

Substitutions:

Bafetimbi Gomis(6.2/10): Very less touches in the opposition half since coming off the bench.

Emre Kilinc(6.5/10): Very less impact on the game.
