FC Barcelona is without a doubt, one of the biggest clubs in Spain. The Blaugrana have enjoyed a lot of success in the 21st century, winning numerous La Liga titles and other domestic accolades at the expense of rivals Real Madrid.

That being said, the footballing community has been accustomed to the financial hardships and monetary constraints for the club in recent years. Be it poor management or reasons otherwise, Barcelona are the only club in Spain’s top flight yet to make a signing.

Despite strong links connecting both Nico Williams and Dani Olmo to the club, Joan Laporta and Deco have struggled to finalize the signing of either player. Negotiations have stalled and both Athletic Club and RB Leipzig are reluctant to let go of their players for the fee offered by Barca.

As per reports, Barcelona are willing to offer a sum amounting to around €60 million including add-ons. As for Williams, Barcelona are still waiting for the final confirmation from the European champion.

Neither Williams nor Olmo have officially agreed terms with FC Barcelona. Even though rumors claim that both deals will be completed in due time, fans have begun to express their frustration at the club.

Fans react to Barcelona struggling to make a single signing in the summer transfer window

A fan claimed that despite being one of the biggest names in Europe, the Blaugrana have failed to convince a bunch of youngsters that playing for Barcelona isn’t better than staying at Athletic Club and RB Leipzig respectively. Another laughed at how fans had to resort to sending donations on TikTok and YouTube to facilitate the signing of Williams.

A few fans still hoped for the best, pointing to how Lamine Yamal will eventually convince his friend to join the the club. A lot of the blame appeared to fall on Barca’s sporting director Deco as fans reminisced how former director Mateu Alemany used to get things done.

Rival fans made use of the opportunity to mock the club’s financial state and called them names like ‘brokelona’. Another supporter sarcastically claimed that the club have 35-year-old Robert Lewandowski and no defensive midfielder to compete with Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid.

It is understood that the club are getting ‘tired’ of waiting, with many claiming that the ‘Barca train’ only passes once. If things remain the way the are, fans are in for a long season in La Liga.
