FC Goa announce 29-man roster for Durand Cup
With the prestigious 130th edition of the Durand Cup on the horizon, FC Goa have released their full list of players that will be travelling to Kolkata. The Gaurs have finally named their 29-man squad after the conclusion of the transfer window. Out of the 29 players, 14 are homegrown talents from Goa, and they have also gone with the full quota of foreigners. FC Goa would be looking to kick the season off with a silverware.

Goalkeepers: Naveen Kumar, Hrithik Tiwari, Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem
Defenders: Leander D’Cunha, Saviour Gama, Sanson Pereira, Kunal Kundaikar, Manushawn Fernandes, Lalmangaihsanga (Papuia), Seriton Fernandes, Ivan Gonzalez, Aibanbha Dohling, Mohamed Ali
Midfielders: Edu Bedia (c), Brison Fernandes, Md. Nemil, Alberto Noguera, Princeton Rebello, Danstan Fernandes, Alexander Romario Jesuraj, Redeem Tlang, Nongdamba Naorem, Glan Martins, Brandon Fernandes, Makan Winkle Chote, Christy Davis
Forwards: Devendra Murgaonkar, Jorge Ortiz, Delton Colaco
Five players from last season’s Development Team have been promoted, namely Hrithik Tiwari, Lalmangaihsanga (Papuia), Brison Fernandes, Christy Davis and Delton Colaco. New signings Nongdomba Naorem, Danstan Fernandes and Manushawn Fernandes have also been added to the squad and would look to make impact if given debuts.
Road ahead for FC Goa in the Duran Cup
The Gaurs are drawn in Group B and will start their campaign against Army Green on 7th September, before facing Suvedha Delhi on 13th September. FC Goa conclude their group stages on 17th September, when they face fellow ISL team Jamshedpur.
The 2020-21 Indian Super League runners-up would be roaring to get success early in the season as they look to put horrors from last season’s final behind them.
