Tom Brady and his Las Vegas Raiders own the No. 1 overall pick, which essentially gives them first right of refusal to either select or look at other prospects if they are not sold on Indiana Hoosiers QB Fernando Mendoza.

Some, such as Stephen A. Smith, believe that the Heisman Trophy winner should find a way to avoid being drafted by the Raiders, as he believes that the organization is a mess and could hinder Mendoza’s growth.

However, Shedeur Sanders and his father, Deion Sanders, trying to muscle their way into getting a favorable pick, only to be humbled, is a cautionary tale for anyone entering the league.

Even the 22-year-old knows that he is destined for the Raiders, as the quarterback-needy team needs the best prospect available to take over if Geno Smith‘s struggles continue.

To learn Tom Brady’s, his pliability routines at Planet Fitness. He’s been able to play for so long, have such a long career, I would love to work out with him one day, to see what he he does, and the TB12 method.

Fernando Mendoza said on Up & Adams

This answer came off the bat when host Kay Adams started talking to the Boston native about his potential interviews with Brady and the Raiders, and if he had planned to go for dinner with the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Fernando Mendoza hopes to make LinkedIn connection with Tom Brady

During their conversation, Kay Adams started talking about how Tom Brady was at the CFP National Championship game and how he has often spoken highly of Fernando Mendoza. When asked if the soon-to-be NFL rookie met the GOAT, he said:

I don’t think you can leave a message or write a note, because he is an owner, and he is going to be interviewing me… If he ever wants to make a connection, I’m open to work, and open to network on LinkedIn.

Fernando Mendoza replied

The Hoosier clarified that the NFL does not allow draft prospects to connect directly with team owners before the draft, which is why he could not get a connection with Brady.

However, in the future, since Mendoza primarily uses LinkedIn to network, he wants to establish a connection with the FOX Broadcaster.

The 6′ 5″ quarterback added that Tom Brady being there to watch him and his Indiana team play in the CFP National Championship in Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, was a full-circle moment for him. The last time the two were in that stadium, Mendoza witnessed his idol play in the game that would end up becoming the ‘Miami Miracle,’ which would eventually upend Brady’s Patriots.

Fernando Mendoza speaks highly of Raiders fans

As they continued to talk about the Las Vegas Raiders, some fans in the audience started enacting the team’s famous chant. Hearing this, Fernando Mendoza said:

The Raiders fans are some of the best fans in all of the NFL. They’re diehard, they’re loyal. They literally go all in for their team.

The QB prospect talked about loyalty when describing the Raiders’ passionate fan base, but also talked about how he would connect with the fans of any franchise he goes to.

Since the draft is still a while away, many things can happen, and the college football champion knows he could end up elsewhere. Despite that, when Kay Adams asked him how he could bring back the winning culture to the team, Mendoza was a bit diplomatic.

He reiterated that success in football is not just due to one player. Rather, the veterans of the team have to lead by example. Essentially, he was trying to keep as much pressure off himself as possible, knowing how bad the Raiders have been of late.
