Conor McGregor’s hatred for Khabib Nurmagomedov will probably never fade. Subsequently, it now draws in collaterals. Big-time MMA fan and ex-POTUS Donald Trump included! The 78-year-old yet again conformed to ‘Eagle’ being his favorite MMA fighter. ‘Notorious’ just couldn’t digest it and went off, only for Michael Chandler to come to the rescue.
In the wake of his assassination attempt, while addressing a signature Republican campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, Conor McGregor had even praised Trump. Mere days later, that sentiment is in ruins. Trump praised the Dagestani in a Kick stream with Adin Ross, and ‘Mystic Mac’ blasted the ex-POTUS. While Chandler had come to the rescue, now he is settling into a new truth after their banter.
Nevermind guys…I think it’s time I finally admit the fight is off. He’s still in stage 2 of the 7 of grief pertaining to his career being over. Figured he’d be closer to 5 by now. Godspeed @TheNotoriousMMA.Michael Chandler via X (@MikeChandlerMMA)
With CEO and head honcho Dana White as a longtime good friend, Donald Trump has had many top UFC fighters flocking to his support. Michael Chandler was one of them. He voiced his support when Trump faced indictment on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to hush money payments in 2016.
Trump has labeled Khabib as his favorite fighter many times. Chandler didn’t appreciate McGregor’s diss; it consequently sparked a back-and-forth. Consequently, it didn’t go well for the American lightweight. Check out the exchanges below:
While he ripped the ‘campaign-ending decision’ of choosing Nurmagomedov as his No. 1 fighter, the buck did not stop. He also ripped ‘Iron’ Chandler as a “broke begging ars*wipe” for coming to his defense. Chandler finally came to terms with this being a ‘Notorious’ tantrum and that he was probably not ready for a fight.
Conor McGregor warns a switch-up; Michael Chandler catches a stray
In a sit down with Jim Norton and Matt Serra on UFC Unfiltered years back, Donald Trump had first mentioned his liking for the Dagestani icon. The duo even met in a historic face-to-face ringside during UFC 302, Live from Prudential Center in Newark.

When Trump once again mentioned Nurmagomedov as his No. 1, ‘Mystic Mac’ wasted no time hitting back at the abysmal choice. The fallout of this saw Michael Chandler admitting that his attention was splintered elsewhere.
McGregor, 36, was to return for the UFC 303 PPV headliner against Chandler in June. While top brass is reluctant to bill a next fight unless he is healthy again, he says December is the date. However, with plans against Chandler falling out of place, the Irishman threatens with a new option.
? lol ok lil bro. Swapped out handy. @BlessedMMA what you at December? The real BMF, you know.Conor McGregor in a since deleted tweet
His callout to Max Holloway won’t fall flat. ‘Blessed’ currently fights for the 145-pound title at UFC 308, Live from Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on October 26. He first faced the Dubliner at UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen and has been trading barbs ever since.
Meanwhile, top bill title challenger Arman Tsarukyan continued his tirade on low-IQ lightweight Michael Chandler. The Armenian star had long postulated that McGregor vs. Chandler won’t happen. Serving a NAC-imposed year ban himself, Tsarukyan and Chandler might be the build-up to make if this goes on further.
