Brock Purdy tried but failed to stop a 49ers loss but some of their fans were busy fighting Rams fans at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.

Some fans opted to settle some scores instead of cheering for Brock Purdy as he went through a career day at SoFi Stadium against the Los Angeles Rams. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback almost got his team over the line, but those fans diverted their attention by throwing punches.

A video clip from inside the stadium surfaced on social media. It showed a group of four individuals, 3 men, and a woman, arguing with one another before one of those men, who wore a Cooper Kupp jersey, threw a sneaky punch at the guy with the George Kittle shirt on.

The woman tried to mediate between the two, but her effort was futile because, ironically, a third guy wearing a Seattle Seahawks shirt showed up and added fuel to the fire. While the woman kept the guy with the Kupp jersey away from the scene, the Seahawks fan threw 2 to 3 right hooks to the side of the head of the Kittle jersey-wearing guy.

A fourth guy in a black t-shirt and jeans barged in out of nowhere into the fight. At first glance, it seemed he tried to de-escalate the situation, but he was ready for a fistfight with the Seahawks fan. The clip ended, leaving more questions than answers to the outcome or even the reason for the heated skirmish.

Another clip revealed a second skirmish in the stands unrelated to the previous one. Yet, similar to the previous one, a 49ers fan was at the receiving end.

The shot clip, somewhere in the stand, documented a guy in a white t-shirt with the phrase ‘Day Drinkers’ staring down at a 49ers fan while clinching his jersey. The white t-shirt guy kept applying pressure on the Niner fan as others tried to separate both of them.

Meanwhile, Brock Purdy’s early game heroics amounted to nothing after Matthew Stafford led a late charge to secure a Rams win. 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings had a career day with 11 catches for 175 yards and three touchdowns.

Fights at SoFi Stadium are not a rare occurrence. During the off-season, when the Dallas Cowboys played against the Rams, a massive fight left a Rams fan bloodied. A stream of fresh blood dripped from a cut on the fan’s forehead as another checked on him. They helped him back up, but he had a hard time standing straight.

A fight during the Week 2 game between the Lions and the Buccaneers outside of Ford Field had even dire outcomes. One man was shot, and another ended up in the hospital, souring the tailgating mood.
