Conor McGregor is facing serious repercussions after a high court in Dublin found him liable for s*xually assaulting Nikita Hand in 2018. In addition to being ordered to pay approximately $260,000 in damages, McGregor’s professional reputation has also suffered significantly. Several stores have decided to remove his whisky from their shelves. In a YouTube video, Daniel Cormier discussed the consequences.

Conor McGregor is going to face some real-life consequences but my question to you guys is, ‘Does he (Conor McGregor) need a fight to try to make y’all forgive him? or will the fight world even accept this man as they used to with this being public knowledge?’ He’s in the sh*t guys. Now, he’s overcome many things inside the octagon and in life but for once I feel like this thing I don’t know if there’s going to be any getting around this…

Over the years, McGregor has faced numerous setbacks in his professional life. However, the Irishman has always managed to overcome those tough times. In this case, according to Cormier, the damage is more severe compared to his previous troubles.

This has led the UFC legend to question whether fans would ever be able to accept McGregor, especially now that they are aware of his liability verdict in a s*xual assault case. ‘The Notorious’ has a massive fanbase within the UFC community. This young fighter from Crumlin overcame numerous challenges to become an icon in MMA, inspiring many along the way.

McGregor’s exceptional rise to global fame has been a source of motivation for many fighters. However, his controversial actions have led to dissatisfaction among some UFC fighters. Notably, Cormier discussed the backlash from fellow fighters following the verdict of McGregor’s civil case.

Daniel Cormier reacts to Islam Makhachev’s comment over Conor McGregor’s civil case verdict

Throughout his illustrious UFC career, Conor McGregor developed intense rivalries with several fighters. One of the most prominent was with former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. While many of McGregor’s rivalries have faded over time, this particular feud remains very relevant. Recently, following the verdict in Irishman’s civil case, ‘The Eagle’ reacted, reigniting the tension between the two.

Along with Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev also made harsh comments directed at McGregor. Interestingly, Daniel Cormier found Makhachev’s reaction puzzling. He even discussed the reasons someone might go so far as to publicly call another person a “filthy b*stard.”

Honestly it seems a bit off-brand for Islam (Makhachev). I know the boys. The boys love to talk trash. The boys love to mess around… It feels off-brand, but in this case, I feel like it could be because of this rivalry between these boys from Dagestan and Conor McGregor has been as nasty as any rivalry as we have seen in mixed martial arts.

According to Cormier, one reason Makhachev criticized McGregor could be the Irishman’s ongoing feud with fighters from Dagestan. While Khabib rarely makes fun of McGregor, the Irishman has consistently seized opportunities to insult them. Consequently, Makhachev responded to McGregor in a similar manner.
