Fighter gets knocked out twice in an MMA match in Brazil
Michael Douglas and Jessian Lucas

A bizarre display of refereeing was shown in a Brazilian Amateur fight when the same fighter has been knocked out twice due to the irresponsible behavior of the referee. This incident is being shown as one of the worst stoppages in MMA history. This took place in the fight between Michael Douglas and Jessian Lucas in the promotion known as Copa Thunder de MMA Amador.

During the fight, Lucas struck a miserable head kick that knocked our Douglas in just 11 seconds of the very first round. Douglas was lying unconscious on the mat and the referee was expected to stop this fight but he didn’t do it. It was visible that Lucas doesn’t want to punch his opponent anymore seeing him like this.

But the referee didn’t call out the fight due to which Lucas was forced to punch him more. While his opponent was lying cold on the mat Lucas rained some nasty ground and pound on him. But the most stupid thing this referee did came now. Even now he didn’t stop the fight instead he called for a timeout.

After checking both fighter’s health he continued the fight again and this time Lucas landed another strike that landed Douglas on the mat again and this time the referee called the fight.

Anderson Ulysses also criticized this event

Lucas’s Head Kick

The vice president of CANMMA, Anderson Ulysses who also work with UFC during its events in Brazil criticized this event. He says, “At 11 seconds of the first round, Michael was knocked out by a high kick to the head and the referee made his first mistake, not interrupting the fight.

“He committed the second mistake by allowing the athletes, teams, MMA fans, and Thunder Fight for the mistakes committed due to lack of experience of the professionals. We inform that the referees that committed the mistakes were interns who were getting tested and had no experience as referees, but had undergone rule courses previously.

Although Douglas didn’t suffer any serious injuries during the fight but with this kind of referring he can get a carrier ending injury.
