Naomi Osaka is enjoying some well earned break post her Australian Open 2021 success. The Japanese tennis sensation won her fourth Grand Slam this year. Previously she has won the US Open twice in 2018 and 2021, and also the Australian Open in 2019. Currently she is ranked no.2 in the world, and without the revised rankings of the WTA she would have been the World no.1.
In her free time, she is most active on twitter. Today, she tweeted out that she keeps listening to the same song, again and again, until she starts hating it. But this practice is more commonplace than what Osaka might believe. Lots of people out there have this particular habit. Interestingly, ex American tennis player Mary Fish replied to the tweet and announced himself the vice president of the club; club of people who have this habit.
Naomi Osaka uses Social media responsibly and for just causes
Osaka is one of the rare stars from Gen Y who maintains a healthy balance while using Social media. She tweets about socially relevant things and also fun stuff. In the past she has refused to participate in tournaments like the Cincinnati Open due to racial injustices in the USA, and also raised her voice against the same at the US Open 2020. She has also been praised for her mature handling and support of the BLM movement.
Even when talking to the media the young 23 year old Japanese star has never sounded arrogant or acted too big for her own good. The star whose mother is Japanese and father Haitian, understands the world well due to her mixed parentage, and maybe that’s why she is so soft spoken and respectful. Something the next generation will do well to learn from.
