To the winner go the spoils, and Billy Napier's Florida Gators drove the point home by planting their flag on FSU's turf.

Billy Napier’s Florida Gators traveled to Tallahassee to face the 2-9 Florida State and end the season on a high note. The Gators won the game, but it wasn’t the curtain call they were hoping for.
After the final whistle, Florida’s edge rusher George Gumbs Jr. planted the Gators flag on the FSU turf to announce their dominance. It ticked off the Seminoles because even a ten-loss team has pride and honor they must defend.
Mike Norvell’s Noles charged in and ganged up on the Gators’ players. Cameras caught a massive brawl breaking out between the two teams, and it took a generous amount of manpower to stop the situation from escalating further.

Billy Napier expressed disappointment at how the Gators-FSU game ended
After the situation calmed down, ESPN’s Holly Rowe spoke with the Gators head coach. Rowe wanted a reaction from Napier on the post-game brawl between the two teams.
It’s ironic that Gators fans wanted Napier out of Florida as recently as October. He was already on the clock after a disappointing first two years and a 2-3 start to the season.
The 45-year-old turned things around midway through the season by beating teams like LSU, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. A win over rival FSU was the icing on the cake that every Gators’ fan dreamed of, and along the way, they also discovered their future quarterback.
Freshman DJ Lagway threw 14 completions from 22 attempts for 133 yards, 2 touchdowns, and one pick. He also ran four times with the ball.
Running backs, Jadan Baugh and Montrell Johnson Jr., did the running for him. Baugh had 11 carries for 81 yards, while Johnson ran 10 times for 99 yards and one touchdown. Tony Livingston and Marcus Burke shared one receiving touchdown each.

The Gators finished the season with three consecutive wins and a 7-5 record ahead of teams such as Auburn, Arkansas, and Oklahoma in the SEC.
