WATCH: Unseen footage of what Sami Zayn did after accidentally kicking Cody Rhodes in the face on Raw
For the second straight week on the trot, Sami Zayn inadvertently took out one of his close friends on Raw. This time it was Cody Rhodes.

Sami Zayn has clearly lost his way as of late. He’s been getting himself into situations that he doesn’t want to be in. As a matter of fact, this week on Raw, the 40-year-old took Cody Rhodes out with a Helluva Kick, though by every account it seemed accidental. He was just trying to liberate his friend from the clutches of Drew McIntyre.
But it backfired when the Scot got out of harm’s way and Rhodes bore the brunt of Zayn’s finishing maneuver. What transpired immediately after that? As shown in the clip below, the former Honorary Uce was clearly perturbed and mad at himself for messing it up. He yelled at Kevin Owens, who had already exited the arena by that point, that he hadn’t turned his back on The American Nightmare.
Sami was scratching his head as he walked back amidst a chorus of boos from the fans. Before leaving, the Quebec-born wrestler was caught on camera apologizing to Cody for his actions. Meanwhile, the latter was still selling the effects of that kick from Zayn. Last night wasn’t the first incident of its kind involving Sami.

In fact, last week, The Great Liberator inadvertently decked Seth Rollins. It stemmed from Zayn’s zeal to help The Visionary as he was getting battered by McIntyre. But just like in Cody’s case, Drew sidestepped, and Sami ended up connecting his boot on Seth.
Both situations mirror each other to a point where it’s hard to decipher if they were merely coincidental. A section of the WWE Universe feels that the former Bloodline member is actually close to snapping. After playing second fiddle for years, Zayn has all the motivation to care for himself for once. And that’s what Rollins asked him to do recently.
Cody Rhodes may succumb to a betrayal against Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble
This Saturday, it’s the Royal Rumble. The premium live event is expected to take a major leap in terms of storyline advancement en route to WrestleMania. In a highly-anticipated clash, Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE title against Kevin Owens. They’ll duke it out in a ladder match.
Although most of the fans are expecting Rhodes to retain, there could be a twist in the tale. As seen on Raw last Monday, Kevin confronted Sami Zayn, labeled him as his brother, and pretended like Zayn would always have his back, let alone this weekend against Cody.

If Sami actually sides with Kevin and betrays Rhodes, that’d be a sight to behold, to say the least. Not to forget that Owens promised Zayn a world title shot at WrestleMania should he emerge victorious at the Rumble.
