El Salvador hosts Honduras for their second qualifying match on Sunday 5th September.

Both the teams played out a draw in their first qualifying game in midweek against USA and Canada respectively, and will be looking to register their first win when they face each other at the Estadio Cuscatlan.

El Salvador will try to reach the World Cup in Qatar next year for first time since the 1982 World Cup but will have to start getting some positive results in doing so.

This is also only the second time they’ve qualified for the final round of the CONCACAF since the 1988.

But the hosts put in a great performance in a 0-0 against USA who recently won the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Nations league, they had a very few chances but Hugo Perez’s men still had a fair share of possession in the game earlier this week.

To be fair it was a good start against a difficult opponent as they look to make it to their fourth World Cup appearance at Qatar next year.

It was a mixed bag of summer for Honduras at the tournaments. They finished third in the CONCACAF Nations League. Honduras then won the first two matches of the Gold Cup but lost the last group game 2-0 against Qatar and then crashed out of the competition after a 3-0 loss to Mexico.
