Greece’s hopes of making it to the playoffs of the 2022 World Cup took a huge dent as they lost 2-0 to Sweden in their last game. The first half was totally dominated by Greece but did not have a goal to show for after hitting the post twice and drawing some good saves from Olsen. Sweden began the second half in a much better way and they were awarded a penalty right on the hour mark after Mavropanos brought down Isak with a bad tackle. Emil Forsberg converted the resulting spot kick. Sweden doubled their lead through Isak as the Greece defenders failed to clear a long ball. Greece sit third in the group with 9 points.

Spain were 2-0 winners against Kosovo in their last game. Goals from Pablo Fornals and Ferran Torres in the first and second half respectively were enough for Spain to record a second straight win in the group. Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati will be a huge miss for Spain ahead of their crucial group games however AC Milan youngster Brahim Diaz has received a call up by Luis Enrique for the last international break of 2021.

A win is the only answer for both Greece and Spain as both look to fight for first and second alongside the leaders Sweden. A win for Greece would take them to 12 points just one behind second place Spain. However a win for 2010 World Cup winners will take them top of the group with one point clear of Sweden as the two sides will face each other in the last group game. However we predict a win for Spain in this one but it will be an interesting matchup with both sides having a lot at stake.
