Antonio Conte provides no guarantees for his future at Tottenham

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has refused to assure about his future at the club in his recent press conference ahead of the (now postponed) North London Derby against rivals Arsenal.

Talking to the media, he said:

I signed a contract and we agreed, Tottenham and I, the length of the contract [18 months].”

Honestly, I like to live in the present and not to think a lot for the future.”

It’s important to live in the present, to try to improve the situation … because the present is now, the future is later. And later could be too much late for us. We have to be focused on the present. Then we will see.”

After what was a spectacular start to his campaign at Tottenham, Antonio Conte has become much of a low energy figure during a difficult week. Conte’s Tottenham suffered two consecutive defeats to his former club Chelsea and a dull performance against League One side Morecambe in the FA Cup surely did not help his situation.

Antonio Conte’s relationship with the club

On getting further questions on his contract and his relationship with the club, Conte said he has had a good time at the club so far. He stated that he had a “good relationship” with Levy and the managing director of football, Fabio Paratici.

Antonio Conte said:

I want to work, I want to improve this team and, I repeat, we have to be focused on the present because, for sure, I want to “I think it was good for me to see the situation and for the club to understand the coach they’re going to work with. Now, I repeat, I’m enjoying my time in Tottenham. I found a fantastic atmosphere, a great stadium, a great training ground, our fans are incredible because they always back us from the start to the end, and I’m enjoying my time in Tottenham.”

Tottenham’s upcoming game has been postponed by the Premier League due to the fact that Arsenal does not have the required number of players for the match. Tottenham’s next game is away at King Power Stadium against 10th place Leicester City.
