Arsenal are desperate to sell Alexander Lacazette this summer
Alexandre Lacazette
According to various reports Arsenal is desperate to ship off Alexander Lacazette as they look to raise funds for any incoming transfer business they may conduct.
30 year old Alexander Lacazette joined Arsenal in the July of 2017 from Lyon. He has not been an instant success but he has been good in patches as he has scored 65 goals in 170 appearances since then.
Why are Arsenal desparate to sell Lacazette?
Alexander Lacazette’s contract with Arsenal ends next June and Arsenal will be hoping to cash on some funds instead of letting him go for free. Lacazette was involved 22 times in the last season’s Premier League. He seems to be attracting interest from La Liga clubs particularly Atletico Madrid.
“Arsenal agressively marketing high end stars” says transfer expert Ian McGarry
According to expert McGarry, Mikel Arteta is looking to free up some players to generate funds for better targets.
Arsenal are desperately, desperately, and as we said aggressively, marketing some of their higher-paid players in order to put money back into the budget with regards to how the club moves forward,” McGarry said on the Transfer Window Podcast.
“Alexandre Lacazette is one of the players they are desperate to sell. In doing so they would get a transfer fee, they don’t mind if the fee was obviously less than what they paid for the player.
“Because his contract is so expensive, they would happily accept a lower fee in order to get him off the wage bill, and in doing so make room for younger players who Mikel Arteta has identified as the future of Arsenal, rather than the present or the past. So Arsenal very much in a position where they need to sell before they can buy.”
