Arsenal are in red hot form currently and are sitting inside the Premier League top 4. The Gunners have now won 5 games in a row after a convincing 2-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League. Arsenal were looking really strong against the Foxes and manager to win the game by a comfortable margin in the end.

Mikel Arteta’s men started the game strongly and scored early on, thanks to a great header by Thomas Partey following a corner by Gabriel Martinelli. However, the Gunners were then forced to be on the backfoot for some time as Liecester City maintained pressure and tried to attack more.

This was a must win game for Arsenal as they are in a heated top 4 battle with Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United all on their tales. The 2-0 victory yesterday has seen the Gunners move into 4th for the time being, with Manchester United just a point below them in 5th place.

However, Arsenal have 3 games in hand over Manchester United and will be looking to extend the game between them and the Red Devils by winning these games. Things are certainly going in the right direction for Mikel Arteta’s men though and UEFA Champions League qualification looks to be a real possibility.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was asked about his side’s current winning streak of 5 games and Martin Odegaard‘s influence in the team after a convincing 2-0 victory against Leicester City in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta said,” I look at the table with the games that we have remaining. We know where we are now, but we have to look forward. We have to look at what we do, focus on our performances and prepare for the next match and that’s it. Because the rest is just guessing. I’m not a great gambler, I never have been and I don’t want to gamble.”

In regards to Martin Odegaard, Arteta said,” He was terrific again today in every aspect of the game, what he had to do in defending, when we were high, when we were deep, in build-up phases, in the final third, the way he understands and manages the game when needed. I think he’s come a long way since his arrival, he’s showing great maturity and responsibility on the pitch and he makes the other players better I think.”

The Gunners boss also added,” I don’t know if we got a bargain on Odegaard, it’s still a little bit early to say that! But we were certainly convinced that a player that could fit in our club, in our model, that he has every value that we want from the players to represent this club and then he has the qualities for what we want to do and we are really happy with him.”

Mikel Arteta on if the players are happy,” It’s the way it should be! I think if the players representing the club are not happy, as the people who we are responsible for them, I think we have to go somewhere else because we are doing something wrong.”

They have the joy and the privilege to be football players, they have to enjoy it, it’s what the purpose of what they do and now you can really sense they are having a good time together, they enjoy playing football with this freedom, they can express it and it’s all about that,” said the Spanish manager.
