Arsenal Owner Stan Kroenke lifted the Super Bowl 56 trophy on Sunday after Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals at SoFi Stadium. The owner Stan Kroenke made an embarrassing blunder as the 74-year old dedicated his team’s final victory to the fans of Los Angeles, however his claims of it being the first title of the city is way off the mark.

Rams who are now two time Super Bowl Champions after a great comeback against Cincinnati Bengals winning 23-20 at their home stadium built by none other than Stan Kroenke himself. The SoFi Stadium is a state-of-art is the world’s most expensive stadium costing more than $5 billion which was opened in September 2020. However Kroenke was under a lot of scrutiny for opening this stadium.

Having won the first Super Bowl in 2000 under the name St Louis Rams, Stan Kroenke bought the Rams in 2010 before relocating them to Los Angeles and now getting their hands on the famous Vince Lombardi Trophy after winning the Super Bowl 56. The Rams were leading 13-10 going into halftime, however the Bengals made a comeback and then led the game 20-16. It was MVP Cooper Kupp second touchdown of the game after an impressive 15-game drive by Matthew Stafford.

Stan Kroenke was quick to thank the fans of Los Angeles and also said that he was proud of the team and the players who hung in there in a difficult final. “It’s amazing, and I am just really proud of this group. So happy for them, and then you talk about these players. They’re unbelievable, and they just hung in there. It was a tough game and I’m just so proud of them executing like they did.” Stan Kroenke said.

Kroenke further added on the SoFi Stadium as Los Angeles Rams becomes the only second side to play a final in their home stadium after Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the first just twelve months ago. “As far as building this stadium goes, I think it turned out alright. Thanks to the great fans of Los Angeles, your first Super Bowl trophy in Rams house.”

Arsenal fans will be hoping for the same success to be delivered by the American business tycoon in the coming seasons. The Gunners will not be adding to their silverware this season but as Mikel Arteta’s men are in sixth place currently which is 24 points adrift leaders Manchester City. Arsenal did not qualify for European football this season, but are definitely in the race for fourth place finish to secure Champions League football for next season.
