Arminia Bielefeld’s search for a first Bundesliga win goes on as they played out a 1-1 draw against Augsburg away from home. Augsburg were up and running from kickoff and as result of that were 1-0 up inside 20 minutes after Reece Oxford scored a header from a Caligiuri corner. Frank Kramer’s side did get better in the second half after some halftime changes made by him. However it was Jacob Laursen who scored from outside the box to salvage a point for his side in the end.

Dortmund captain Marco Reus opened the scoring against Mainz in the third minute of the game after a sumptuous half volley from inside the box as a result of Mainz’s half hearted clearance. Erling Haaland was back after missing three games in all competitions. The Norwegian forward was back on the score sheet early in the second half as he converted from the spot after a Silvan Widmer hand ball. Mainz managed to pull one back in the last five minutes of the game after a poor clearance by Dortmund keeper Kobel.

However Erling Haaland put the game out of Mainz’s reach after adding his second and Dortmund’s third of the night in stoppage time to round off a comfortable 3-1 victory. The Norwegian now has 49 goals in 49 league games for Dortmund.

Dortmund were beaten 4-0 by Ajax in their third group game of the Champions League, but that does not affect the fact that Marco Rose’s men will go for all three points when they face Arminia at the weekend. Dortmund will try to put the pressure on leaders Bayern with a win. On the other hand Arminia were decent in their 1-1 draw against Augsburg but it is hard to see them get any points against Erling Haaland and Co. Hence we predict a win for away side Dortmund in this game.
