Carlo Ancelotti wary of Barca in first El Clasico after Messi departure
The El Classico match on Sunday has left the Los Blancos manager, Carlo Ancelotti in concern as he believes the clash between the two Spanish giants will put a similar pressure on the players although FC Barcelona are currently witnessing a bit of a downfall this season.
FC Barcelona after they faced some real blows this season with the departure of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, they are currently rediscovering themselves. Ronald Koeman has been trying to retrieve Barcelona since then and with now injured players returnig to the squad Barcelona now see a glimmer of hope.
“It’s a team that are coming back from many problems, but little by little, they are finding their identity and are improving,” Carlo Ancelotti said in his pre match conference.
“It’s not important how the team comes into this sort of game. It’s about what you do on the field. All of these games are like that.”

Carlo Ancelotti thinks that the El Classico this weekend in Camp Nou will have an electric atmosphere as both the teams come after a win in their Champion League.
Real Madrid won their last match against Shakhtar Donetsk 5-0 where they dominated the Ukrainian team and secured a comfortable victory. On the other hand FC Barcelona went up to Dynamo Kyiv where the Spanish team secured a much needed 1-0 win and their first win in Champions league this season.
“They’re special matches,” Ancelotti said. “There are special games in every country, like Inter-[AC] Milan, Chelsea-Tottenham, Bayern [Munich]-[Borussia] Dortmund. It’s a special match for Spain and the Clasico is the most important game for the fans. It’s not a normal game, and my way of preparing for it is with maximum tranquility and maximum focus.”
