“Carrick Got it right” – former Tottenham Hotspurs star justified the decision of benching Ronaldo

Manchester United went up against another heavy weight team in the Premier League this month as they took on Chelsea in Stamford Bridge to play their their 13th matchday under the management of Michael Carrick.
Man United started the game without the likes of Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Cristiano Ronaldo as some suffer from injuries while the other were just some tactical changes bought into play by Michael Carrick.
Chelsea was absolutely the dominant side from the very first minute of the game but they were unfortunate to concede a goal at the 50th minute which came in from the mistake of Jorginho as Jadon Sancho snatched the ball away from the Italian to put the Red Devils up by 1-0.
Jorginho atoned for his mistake by scoring the equaliser for Chelsea from the 12 yard spot at the 69th minute of the game. Manchester United kept the score level and managed to secure a vital draw against the table toppers.
“I think Carragher makes a good point,” Jamie O’Hara told talkSPORT

There were lot of talks about why the Portuguese superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo was bought in from the bench and was not given the start but according to former English and Tottenham Hotspur player Jamie O’Hara the decision was definitely the right one.
“Michael Carrick has got it right tactically. They are winning 1-0 and Ronaldo comes on fresh for half an hour and they draw the game,” Jamie O’Hara on his podcast session with talkSPORT.
“If Ronaldo comes on and they are losing 2-1 and it is desperation to try and get something from it then I can understand the argument.”
“If you look at the facts, Carrick got it right because they were winning.”
Manchester United were leading 1-0 in the game before Cristiano Ronaldo came into action but five after he was subbed in the Red Devils were back on equal terms.
Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane and Dave Jones had a long argument on Cristiano Ronaldo’s benching decision, while the other two said he should start Carragher said, “I think this idea that Ronaldo has to start every game and play every minute of every game I don’t think is right.”
“Going away in big games I can understand why Michael Carrick never started him against Chelsea.”
