Cristiano Ronaldo expresses his gratitude towards FIFA for honouring him with a Special award
Cristiano Ronaldo has recently received a Special Award in the Ceremony of FIFA Best on Monday night as the Portuguese Superstar is honoured for becoming the top scorer in international football.
The Portuguese striker in a match against Northern Ireland in World Cup qualifiers scored his 110th goal to overtake the Irani striker, Ali Daei and become the top scorer in the history of international football.
Ronaldo currently has a total of 115 goals and looks forward to add more to his tally in the coming days as Portugal are scheduled to play their playoffs to grab a place for themselves in the grand stage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo in his recent social media post said, “Winning The FIFA Special Best Award is a tremendous honor and a huge privilege. The fact that such a relevant institution chose to recognize me as the Top Goalscorer in the history of FIFA competitions is, for me, the pinnacle of my individual achievements in representation of my beloved country.”
“Now, it’s up to me to turn this award into extra fuel and motivation to help achieving all our goals at Man. United for this season, as well as to the upcoming play-off matches in March, so that Portugal can be at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and we can all keep writing this amazing story together.”
Other Winners in the FIFA’s Best Award Ceremony
Robert Lewandowski, the Polish Bayern Munich striker won the FIFA Best Men’s player while Alexia Putellas, Ballon D’or winner was again the obvious choice for the FIFA Best Women’s players as she led the Catalan club to glory in the Champions League as well as in the Spanish League and Cup.
Erik Lamela was honoured with FIFA Puskas Award for the goal scored with Rabona for Tottenham while Chelsea managed to grab three awards, the Best Goalkeeper, The Best Coach Men and Women.
