Every sport has few legends and will always be involved in a certain debate. Those debates never get over. In football, we have seen multiple legends gracing the field and have settled the debate. However, there is one debate that is not settled and probably, might not settle as well. The debate that we are talking about is the Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi debate.

Both players started their career in different ways. The Portuguese talisman moved and played across Europe to return to Manchester United whereas the Argentinian moved away from his boyhood club due to financial restrictions. However, this neither taints their caliber nor understates their achievements. 

Along with fans, the legends of certain clubs, the managers and their previous coaches have sided with the players that they have trained. Along with that, current plates and young guns also have given the verdict. However, few gentlemen of the game have refused to comment on the debate. Under Koeman, the Catalans are struggling in the league as they are finding it hard to take the points home. The talks of sack is also making rounds at the moment in Spain. 

5) Andrea Pirlo

Former Juventus gaffer as well as the player had the opportunity to manage Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2020/21 season. Though he could not keep the player for long in Turin, he was able to witness Ronaldo masterclass. Following Koeman’s footsteps, he said:

it would be wrong to say who is better between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. They are two phenomenons that put on spectacles for millions of fans.

Currently, Pirlo is one of the favorites to replace Koeman at Camp Nou. It remains interesting to see how his future pans out in the ongoing season.
