David Moyes predicts Brexit will fuel resurgence of ‘Scottish Golden Generation’ in the Premier League

West Ham United manager David Moyes says that Brexit will help Scottish players to come to Premier League and really flourish in one of the best league in the world. The likes of Andrew Robertson at Liverpool, Kieran Tierney at Arsenal, John McGinn at Aston Villa and Manchester young midfielder Scott McTominay have all laid their markers and prove that Scottish players can compete in the Premier League.

Another Scottish young full-back Nathan Patterson joined Everton from Rangers in this January transfer window. Scotland had some absolute talents in the 1980’s with players like Kenny Daglish and Graeme Souness to name a few who made the Premier League their own.

“Scottish players in England are beginning to show what they’re capable of again. Scotland will become a better hunting ground for clubs down here because of the Brexit situation. More English clubs will come looking.”

The West Ham boss also appreciated the performance and efforts of the Scotland national team with Steve Clarke’s side made an appearance at the Euro 2020 and are now up against Ukraine in the playoff of the World Cup in March, should they progress they will then face either of Wales or Austria.

“Steve has done a brilliant job with the Scotland team, the way he’s got them playing and getting results. he’s picking from some really talented players in the Premier League, as well as some boys in Scotland who are now making a name for themselves.” The West Ham boss added.

The former Real Sociedad manager also said that Scotland should be aware of Ukraine’s best player Andriy Yarmolenko who is one of the best players in the West Ham squad. Yarmolenko is also close on beating Andriy Shevchenko’s goal record.

The Hammers are absolutely flying this season with an impressive finish in the Europa League group stage and also competing with the big boys in the Premier League for a top four finish this season.
