The FIFA World Cup the history of the game of football is by far the biggest tournament in the world. It’s where the nations or say the best nations across the whole globe compete in a bid to secure the title of the best national team on Earth. The tournament started way back in the year 1930 by the founder of the tournament named Jules Rimet. Initially, the trophy was named after him.

The Jules Rimet trophy was stolen and a replica was made, although the original was found in a week itself. A new trophy was introduced in 1974 by the then governing body and the old one was given to Brazil as perpetuity for them to win the World Cup third time since the tournament was officially ever introduced.

When it comes to the composition of The FIFA World Cup trophy, the looks, and the class that it has when anyone sees it, the first opinion is always that that trophy is made up of gold. It’s NOT, the 36.5 centimeters tall trophy is made up of 75 percent of gold only. 75 percent measures 6.175 kilograms of 18-carat gold.

The base of the current trophy is 13 centimeter in diameter and feature two stripes of malachite which is a copper carbonate hydroxide mineral. When it comes to the Jules Rimet trophy, measured around 35 centimeters in height and weighed 3.8 kilograms. The material used to make the trophy was Gold-played Sterling silver.

The modern-time trophy is worth 161,000 dollars but due to its uniqueness, it is valued at around 20 million dollars. Well, the winner to be honest gets the title of the best nation all around the world but does not get to keep such a valuable trophy. A bronze replica of the same trophy is given to the winner that they can keep in their closets.

The team and its players do get to keep the original medals to honor them for the sheer hard work they put in to win the title. The last team to keep an original trophy was Brazil which was given the Jules Rimet trophy after their third world title and since then they have had it in their country. It was just after the old trophy was discontinued.
